Mercy for all Animals


This blog is dedicated to a man who sometimes spoke volumes with just a few words.

John Henry Newman was a Catholic cardinal and theologian who was an important figure in the religious history of England in the 19th century.

I knew almost nothing about this man until I stumbled upon his words in a google search for “animal rights quotes”, although I had certainly heard his name before.

I thank him for his compassionate voice for the voiceless all those years ago, the echoes of which still beg to be heard and contemplated today.
