Arabs and Jews Together: a Common Cause of Compassion

A wonderful coming together in harmony and peace happened in July of 2016 and it shows the remarkable power of not just a common cause, but a cause rooted in compassion, love and mercy.

More than 1,000 animal rights activists marched together for veganism in the city of Haifa, Israel, under the title “We Are All Their Voice: Coming Together for the Animals”.

Organized by both Arab and Jewish animal rights activists, the march was part of a  continuous collaboration between the two communities in the north of Israel, where vegan activists have been working together over the last couple of years.

There is something about the suffering of innocent animals that calls out the best in us to reach out across lines of division to meet in a spirit of love and empathy for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Wouldn’t it be interesting–and wonderful– if the power of the vegan message is what finally brings mankind together in a spirit of peace and cooperation?

After all, the vegan philosophy is very simple: treat others as you would have yourself be treated.
